Anxiety is one of the most common emotional experiences. It has a specific albeit primal, purpose--to keep us alive. However, when the frequency or duration of this emotional experience becomes excessive, beyond control and/or impedes the ability to remain engaged or function in normal areas of life (social, occupational, and/or academic settings), therapy can then be helpful. Understanding that anxiety simply serves as an indication that you are currently experiencing a lack of safety can help to orient you in the direction of generating and preserving safety in relationships. I utilize an eclectic approach for treating anxiety, but my primary approach is Restoration Therapy (RT).
Treatment includes:
- An initial diagnostic session to determine the level of treatment required
- Symptom triage and management
- Emotional Regulation
- Tool integration/skill-building
*Treatment can vary for each person. The above is not an exhaustive list.
